Babies who cannot have human milk need a very specialized artificial milk. The problem is with mothers who are not willing to or (very rarely) cannot nurse and have no access to a reliable human milk bank. Just to clarify... Many of them would have no problems with their mother's milk if the mom would just keep track of what she is eating and the baby's reaction to those foods -- then eliminate the offending food(s) from her diet. The top problem foods for babies (through breast milk) include cow's milk and soy. My son was allergic to corn -- and corn products are in almost every artificial baby milk -- corn products are in almost everything processed.
