Guest guest Posted July 5, 2001 Report Share Posted July 5, 2001 Vegetarian No-Fat Maple Syrup 4 cs. pure maple syrup 5 1/2 cs. water 6 tbsps. kuzu or cornstarch In a 3-quart saucepan, mix maple syrup with 4-1/2 cups water and bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix remaining one cup of water with kuzu. Remove syrup from heat and vigorously whisk kuzu mixture into syrup. Return mixture to heat and simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken. Serve warm or at room temperature. Refrigerate unused portion. Makes 9 cups Calories per 1/4 c....93...Fat...0 g...Protein...23 g... Carbs...1 g...Sodium...5 mg...Fiber...0 g.
