Guest guest
Buy extra firm tofu, slice about 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Morton's Nature's seasoning (a brand we have in the US, or use whatever seasoning you like on hamburger), and some soy sauce. Let sit for 30 min or until you are ready to cook. Grill until slightly browned, nice and warm, don't overcook. I've had people tell me it tasted like chicken Another of my favorites, saute about 1/4 cup sliced sweet onion in a bit of oil. Cut 1LB firm tofu into cubes and add to pan with generous application of House of Tsang, Korean Teriyaki Stir Fry Sauce (or stir fry sauce of your choice) Cook until heated through. Serve over cooked rice. The above has endless varieties if you want to experiment with adding vegetables. Just add the tofu last and don't overcook it. My opinion - your 18 yr old is old enough to do some research and come up with some dinner ideas too. Take it slowly, don't take away all the meat at once. My husband was a major carnovore, had to have meat at every single meal! Four years later if he eats meat it is a very small amount and he doesn't seem to miss it. He doesn't like tofu and it is not a requirement for a healthy vegetarian diet. I love it though and encourage you to give it a try and see what you think Kris PS what is cattle country? I used to live in Kansas and most of them through I was slightly insane <G> --- paws1 <paws1 wrote: > Hi there. Guest guest
Cattle country is Texas! But luckily, Texas is also known for its terrific produce such as Fredricksburg Peaches, Ruby red Grapefruit, sweet onions, pecans, rice, watermelon, and blueberries!
