Guest guest Posted June 2, 2001 Report Share Posted June 2, 2001 Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burgers Serves 6 Ingredients: 3 T. olive oil 2 T. balsamic vinegar 2 T. tamari 1 T. garlic, minced 6 portobello mushrooms, wiped clean 6 hamburger buns or rolls choice of toppings such as, lettuce, arugula, tomato slices, roasted peppers, or caramelized onions choice of condiments such as, mayonnaise, mustard, or a vinaigrette Method: 1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, tamari, and garlic, and set aside. 2. Remove the grills from the underside of the mushrooms, if desired. Brush the mushrooms on all sides with the marinade. 3. Grill the mushrooms for 5 minutes per side, turn only once, and grill until tender, about 8-10 minutes total cooking time. 4. Slice the buns or rolls and lightly toast on the grill, if desired. 5. Serve the grilled mushrooms on buns with your choice of toppings and condiments.
