Guest guest
The gelatin in the jello is made from animal products. I can't remember exactly which part though. I seem to think it has something to do with the hooves but I could be way off. island girl wrote: > >>, TotoArf@A... wrote: >can anyone tell me where I might obtain some vegetarian Jell-O? << > >I am totally new to vegetarianism (Hubbie decided out of the blue for >health reasons and I am trying to follow along). Guest guest
As far as I know gelatin contains (among other animal products) traces of bone marrow. This is disgusting not only because jello thus contains animal products, but it's also dangerous, because BSE is "spread" over the marrow mixed into food!! Guest guest
Hi all. Yes--it's made with bone, also sinew, tendons, cartilage, etc. A good web site which answers some common questions about whether certain foods are vegetarian is: http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/faqingredients.htm You'd be surprised at what they put in our foods! Guest guest
To my knowledge, Jello, is an animal by product made of cartilage and bone which has been ground, boiled and formed into gelatin. Strange eh? kimberly - island girl Tuesday, May 29, 2001 2:40 AM vegetarian jello? > >>, TotoArf@A... wrote:>can anyone tell me where I might obtain some vegetarian Jell-O? <<>>I am totally new to vegetarianism (Hubbie decided out of the blue for>health reasons and I am trying to follow along).
