Guest guest
I'm not sure where my mom got this recipe so I don't know who to give the credit to but I really like it--it's quick, easy to throw together and it's good for you too! Universal Pilaf 1 cup grain (uncooked) 2 Tbls oil diced garlic 2 cups broth 1/2 to 2/3 cup beans (canned or pre-cooked) 1/2 cup vegetable salt and pepper Heat oil in skillet and add garlic. Add grain and fry 1 minute. Add liquid and bring to a boil. Add beans and vegetable and season. Return to a boil and simmer. 40 minutes for whole grain, 15 minutes for white rice. I've found that brown rice, white kidney beans and carrots make a great combination.
