Guest guest Posted March 19, 2001 Report Share Posted March 19, 2001 Vegetarian Nahit (Toasted Chick Peas) 1 can (15 oz) chick peas, drained and rinsed twice and dried with paper towels 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Salt to taste (remember that canned chick peas are usually high in salt to begin with) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl, toss the chickpeas, oil, and spices together to combine. Spread on a non-stick baking sheet and bake until golden brown and crisp, 25 to 34 minutes.
