Problem. I don't know how to make it. Any good recopies out there? Sarah M. Hi Sarah, here is a recipe for tofu steaks that can be broiled, grilled, or fried. Enjoy. Kimmielee BLACK PEPPER TOFU STEAKS 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1/4 tspn crushed dried marjoram 3 tablespoons semi-dry white wine Pinch black pepper 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 pound firm tofu 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 2-4 tablespoons canola oil 1/4 tspn ground coriander seeds In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients except the tofu and the canola oil, and mix well. Cut tofu into six 1/2 inch slices and press to extract excess moisture. Place tofu in a single layer in a shallow baking dish and pour the marinade on top. Marinate at room temp. for at least 1 hour, turning tofu slices once. In a skillet, heat 1-2 tablespoons of canola oil over medium-low heat. Remove tofu from marinade. Saute the slices until lightly browned, 2-3 minutes; flip and brown the other side. Serve hot. (marinade can be stored in a covered jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 wks.) NOTE: To BROIL instead, preheat broiler, arrange tofu in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet; brown top, turn, and brown the other side. Be careful not to overcook, or the tofu will become dry and chewy.
