My husband and children eat meat, though my 4 yr old is becoming cognizant of the source of meat/fish which upsets her somewhat. I do cook meat/fish for them. I am looking for simple recipes that do not require ingredients not found at the local supermarket and that my children will eat. I especially like recipes that can be prepared meatless and with meat, so two meals do not have to be made each night. "Quick and simple " is my motto. I am a vegetarian and my husband is a hunter. I am able to cook most easy meats for him without a problem. I draw the line at anything that looks like an animal, yuk! We often have a salad or big veg dish, pasta or rice and he has some meat. Shish ka bobs work well. I have tomatoes, corn, apples, tofu, pepers, carrots, onion, brocoli and whatever else we have around.I add chicken to his. I have been scanning the recipes but unable to think of food. I am pregnant and have a sensitive stomach right now. I can eat anything but thinking of the foods makes me queezy. Guest guest
My boyfriend of two years grew up in Texas meat and potatoes family. The alternative we found was " Boca Burgers " . They feel and taste too much like meat for some vegetarians, but hold up well on an honest to goodness grill, and slice easily so you can skewer them to make shishkabobs. You can even make " meat " loaf and other recipes with them if you thaw them a bit before you cook them. Give 'em a shot. Publix carries them. If you don't have Publix in your area, as around. Boca Burgers are distributed nationwide. happy " hunting " ! ..james.
