Guest guest
> When I traveled Scotland and England last year I was impressed by the vegetarian (not vegan) food selections < I think we are reasonably OK in Scotland for veggie menus, eating out, though McDonalds and Burger King are very expensive. Some small places offer really good value veggie, also tastes good, and a lot of bakery shops have " carry out " selection. The more upmarket restaurants can be very pricey with veggie dishes. I don't like the tomato and cheese white bread sandwiches either - the type you get at motorway cafeterias (so expensive), but I don't like white bread, haven't eaten it since I was a kid. >They call it a large coke but it is equivelant to a childs soda here in the states.< Americans are considered big eaters compared with the British, everyone who has been to America talks of the huge helpings. Do you think that is so? Over here, eating habits tend to differ from area to area - traditions. North of England and Scotland traditionally considered big eaters compare with the more southern parts of England. Interesting, but probably only general observations. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the UK, where in Scotland did you go? Wads the weather decent? Liz ~ Scotland
