I love good food, it's a joy. I do eat some meat at times, but I prefer vegetarian food and I don't like to cook meat. I have loads of cookbooks. I don't like to spend money on books that contain mostly meat recipes, so most of my books are veggie books. I get that this list is not only for vegans, but also ovo-lacto vegetarians as well? Since this is a recipe list, here's something: some chickpeas, mashed up some tahini some green olives chopped up some onion chopped up Hmmph, I forget, since it's been some time since I made this - I'm on a diet to lose weight, and this is fattening - maybe some garlic, chopped up fine. All this good stuff is gooshed up together to make what amounts to olive hummus. Amounts of ingredients are to taste. This stuff goes so well with homemade whole wheat bread and tomatoes and lettuce. I put lots of garlic in my hummus, and also lemon juice and parsley and a dash of cayenne.. I have experimented adding roasted peppers or sundried tomatoes, and the result was great! Substituting orange juice instead of lemmon juice gives it a different twist also! I love hummus, and take this for lunch quite a bit with crackers or pita! Yum Yum!
