I am a Jew and I was always taught that while Judaism is a sacrificial religion, in the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were vegetarians. I have to speak up for Tracy after some other messages followed hers because she did say that Judaism was a scraficial religion. That aside, I am not in any way a religious person and this isn't the place for a discussion of that. I'm vegetarian because I do not believe we should rape this planet, and kill as we are doing, to eat. There are too many alternatives. It does annoy me (to put it mildly <g>) when I'm criticized for this and then from religious friends get the spiel that its in the bible we are supposed to eat meat. I find that telling these folks that the bible was written by a lot of old shepherds trying to sell their sheep will usually bring a quick end to the conversation. For whatever reason we are vegetarian, the end result is a benefit to us and to the creatures with whom we share this planet.
