Pam, thankyou for your help! We do have soy slices here in Australia, but l

have always avoided them because l thought they would taste like meat, do

you know what l mean? A long, long time ago someone bought me a vegetarian

pie thingy, made by Sanitarium, which had a filling that tasted really meaty

and smoky. lt affected me for days (gross!!!), and ever since then l have

avoided those kind of 'meat substitutes' like the plague. But there are lots

of new ones out now, so l will give some a go.

l'm also still experimenting with tofu, l haven't worked out where l can get

a 'firm' one for using in stirfries etc, but l have plenty of supplies of

the softer kind. l am really going to have to start experimenting a bit more

with my cooking. l find it a bit hard to get all of the ingredients, as l

live in a smallish outer suburban/country town, the guy in the health food

shop didn't even know what agar agar was!!!...*sighs*...l am going to make a

trip to an asian grocery store and stock up on stuff...:o)

OK, Gabbie,

I didn't realize you didn't like the taste of meat. Like most people I was

brought up to eat it and so it isn't the taste I find objectionable, it is

the idea of eating the animal. I rely a lot on meat substitutes. Well let

me know if you try the tofu " egg " sandwich. I really enjoy them myself. I

have a tofu recipe book. I will go through it and see if I can find you

other things that are easy to make for your lunch!

Have a great day!

Pam.
