<< There is brown

rice flour also. I would think you could go without the

meat and still be a success. There are plenty of bean

flours too - again check the carbs. >>

Thanks, Darlene!

Re the grapeseed extract -- I'm also seeing multiple reportson

supplementation. Grapeseed and golden seal are practically the only two I've

seen mentioned more than once besides capryllic acid.

As far as mushrooms go I saw one book that said no, one that said yes, and

one said thgat " as long as you're certain you don't have an allergy to them. "

So even the books are confused.

I think I'll find SOMETHING to eat besides salads and nuts for the first few

weeks... does anyone know if Asian rice noodles are really high carb? How

about ben threads?

I'm not sure but I would think the asian rice noodles

are high because most of them are made with the sweet

rice flour - I believe.

The book that I read that mushrooms were out stated it

was because they were a fungus which makes sense to me.

I'm easy to convince though. :0)

Well I just went and raided my cabinets. Yes, all the

asian noodles I have are high carbs. The rice and

quinoa pastas are also. I thought I had some brown rice

spaghetti somewhere but can't find it. I'll look again

tomorrow and let you know if I find it.

One thing I've been using a lot lately are corn

tortillas. I don't know if the Walmart's by you carry

them but here they do and they deliver them on a daily

basis so they're fresh. They have the corn tostadas and

they are only 9g of carbs. These are like flat taco

shells and sometimes I break them up and eat them like

chips. You can also make a tostada with them which is

just a flat taco. Load some veggies on top and it's

pretty tasty.

Also get the corn/maiz tortillas and they are softer and

if fried would turn out crispy just like the tostadas or

you can fry them a little where they aren't so crispy

and are more flexible and they are really great that

way. Again use like a taco shell only a soft taco

shell. They are 11 g of carbs. Also get the Corn

Tortillas De Maiz. Don't know the difference but they

are more like a flour tortilla but only made with corn.

They are soft and you can roll up stuff in them and eat

like a buritto. You can stuff them with spanish rice or

veggies or both. Pretty tasty! Tomorrow I'll post a

Mexican Black Bean Stir Fry that I make often and it is

good alone or sometimes I roll it up in the tortillas.

Hope this helps,

Darlene
