They aren't mushy after freezing them? It's a good idea to put them into

oil. I never thought of that! Vicki

Black Olives

About keeping black olives~~

I have no problems with freezing them - I just put what I

don't use into a freezer bag and squeeze out the air before

zip-locking.

Another thing that I do is to put them into an empty jar of

green olive liquid and that keeps them, too. Or you can

make your own liquid by mixing olive oil with your favorite

flavor of vinegar.

~~Jenny

PS - I eat cheeses, too - also, eggs and other dairy

products and feel no guilt although I respect a vegan's

right not to eat them.

I'm sure it's different when you're cooking for more than one, plus I

don't cook every day. Too burned out. I have 4 furkids who keep me

relatively busy, although they're not very demanding because they're

good dogs. But they have needs that must be met! Vicki

Re: Black Olives

We never have black olives left! Between my 2 yr old son and me, we

scarf 1/3

of a can down while cooking dinner. We also use them in:

salads (duh, huh? :)

bean mixtures (try chickpeas, mashed potatoes, garlic, and black olives

in a

blender)

casseroles

quesadillas.

Basically, I throw whatever I have open in the fridge into whatever I'm

making.
