Guest guest
Please forward this message to everyone you know. A miracle is in the making, but it can't happen without YOU! Dr. John Hagelin is in position to be the first third party candidate since Lincoln to claim the White House. Even if the polls don't show it, the needed elements are all in place. This past week Doug Friedline, Jesse Ventura's campaign manager, jumped aboard the Hagelin/Goldhaber train. In his speech at the NLP convention, Doug pointed out that three elements are necessary for a successful campaign--right candidate, right message, and right timing. In John Hagelin and Nat Goldhaber, we certainly have far and away the best candidates. John is a world-renowned physicist who really understands how things work. And Nat is an extremely successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur who knows how business works and how to create success. Both men are also highly conscious souls who have practiced a powerful meditation program for decades. If they can't lead America into deep harmony with natural law, then no one can. And they have the right message--that government should be about what works and not about what is bought by special interest money. Their message is reform--true reform in campaign finance, in education, in criminal justice--in every area of national life. Only a smidgeon of this message carried Ross Perot to 20 million votes in '92 and nearly won John McCain the Republican nomination this year. It is a message that America is ready for--the timing is certainly right. Many of us feel deeply that, sooner or later, John will be President. But, it is becoming clear to the majority of Americans that we cannot wait four more years for real reform. By then our nation will be suffering severe consequences from decades of unsustainable programs. What was especially inspiring about the NLP convention is that the message came out loud and clear that John and Nat are the leaders of a coalition " movement. " Jim Mangia and Russ Verney, leaders of the Reform Party, were there. Lenora Fulani and Doug Friedline, leaders of the Independence Party, were there. This is not about one political party. It is about all reform-minded people coming together in one effort. Moved by the idea of coalition, people who watched the convention on C-Span have been calling to offer their support. One such person, an elderly woman doctor in central Florida, said that she had watched the whole convention three times. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her first question for me was, " What's the matter with Ralph Nader? Doesn't he see what's happening here and how he can help the movement by throwing his support behind John and Nat? " She went on to say that Nader looks tired, that he just doesn't have the energy for the fight, and that his message is just not big enough. She then asked what she could do over the internet and on her phone to help. I suggested that she first communicate her feelings to Ralph Nader. And then to everyone she knows. We have two months to do the impossible. We now have many dynamic and creative people on board and I'm sure that major endorsements will be coming. Mailings are being sent to all past Perot supporters inviting them to join us. Millions will be alerted by a phone campaign. And John will be speaking at universities all across the country. But, it is going to require that we each do everything possible to get the message out. What can you do? First, make sure that everyone you know in America is aware of John's campaign. Refer them to John's website, www.hagelin.org <http://www.hagelin.org> where they can view videos of John in action, read our platform, and make contributions. You can visit Joe Simonetta's website at www.votejoe.org <http://www.votejoe.org>. Joe is our U.S. Senatorial candidate from Florida who will be leading walks for campaign finance reform in different cities every Saturday until the election. We need help with those walks. And hold the vision of John in the White House. If we each do all that we can over the next two months, we will create a miracle. As the experiences of Jesse Ventura and John McCain have taught us, America is ready for new leadership. And even in a corrupt political system it is possible for those with integrity to win. America is literally dying for a true reformer with a unifying message. So, let's get going! ________ Further notes on the convention: I was especially gratified by the fact that we had eighteen bright and enthusiastic supporters from Florida at the convention, including all four of our candidates. Four years ago, I was the only representative from Florida. Russ Verney, founding chair of the Reform Party, pointed out that exit polls in '92 showed that if all Americans had voted their conscience, rather than for the " lesser of evils " , Ross Perot would have won that election. He also pointed out later that if we can just bring integrity back to the political process through campaign finance reform, then everything else will take care of itself. Friday morning, which unfortunately was not covered by C-Span, featured the following speakers: Christopher Flavin, acting President of Worldwatch Institute, Steven Drucker, Executive Director of the Alliance for Bio-Integrity, Harvey Karp, spokesperson for the National Academy of Pediatrics, and Harold Bloomfield, psychiatrist and best-selling author. If every American had heard these talks, we would be assured of John's victory in November. Harvey Karp pointed out that George W. Bush's slogan " No child left behind " to honestly reflect his actions, should be changed to " No child--period. " He also noted that Bush's relationship to the environment was something like that of the doctor to his patient-----when the doctor's name is Kevorkian. Harold Bloomfield reported that research has shown that those who serve life are ten times as happy as those who live for self. And I can't remember who the speaker was, but someone made the remarkable comment that " the ark was built by amateurs while the Titanic was built by professionals. " These are just a few of the many memorable quotes from the convention. Neale Donald Walsch gave a keynote speech on Friday night that also was not covered by C-Span, but which all Americans should have heard. It was a rousing call to spiritual expression through politics. Lenora Fulani gave a deeply moving speech about coalition that was covered by C-Span. At Friday night's banquet, Paul Fuarso had the place rocking with his new campaign song for John entitled " Rock On Dr. John. " By next morning Zanna Feitler of Ohio had envisioned all the details of a great rock video based upon that song. If it hits the airwaves anything like she has envisioned, it could capture America's youth in a day. You can order tapes of the convention from C-Span at 877-662-7726. The three tape titles are as follows: Aug. 31st NLP Press Conference, Aug. 31st Convention, and Sept. 1st Convention.
