Guest guest
Vegetarians simply don't eat any animal flesh. A person who eats a raw food diet may or may not be a vegetarian. They do not eat anything that has been cooked. For some, that includes eating raw meats. Many eat a lot of nuts, seeds, fruits and raw vegetables, and sprouted grains. > " Jeanine Smith " <bluestocking86 > > >Re: Hello from one newbie to another! >Tue, 22 Aug 2000 14:03:09 EDT > >Hi! Guest guest
Hi Jeanine! >Exactly what do you eat now? I understand you are eating raw fruits and >vegetables. Does this eliminate grains, beans etc? OK, the vegetarian ethic is simply this: we don't eat ANYTHING that had ot be killed before it could be eaten. Or, you could say, we don't eat anything that had a face. That means we DO eat the whole plant kingdom including beans and grains unless you are a fruitarian who exist on fruits and nuts - anything that does not harm the plant. This is odd as plants do not have central nervous systems, so is VERY unlikely they feel pain!!!! Many veggies also eat eggs and dairy foods, but those who don't are known as vegans or pure vegetarians. Many veggies are interested in raw food diets too, so we do eat oa lot of salads and fruit, but most not exclusively. >Now I am thinking - corn on the cob - you don't cook it right? You can, but you don't have to. >I am wondering what does breakfast, lunch and supper contain? I suppose, on a raw food diet, one could have loads of fruit for breakfast and huge salads and so on for other meals, but I rather think this list is for speedy vegetarian recipes, rather than raw foods! All the best! ERB ______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
