BREAKFAST TOAST BREAD

 

3 Cups soy milk or buttermilk

3/4 cup honey

1/2 cup sorghum

1 Tbs baking soda

3/4 tsp salt

2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour

3/4 cup wheat germ

1 1/2 cup white flour

3/4 cup raisins or dates

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

 

Mix all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

 

Add wet ingredients, mix thoroughly, and place in two

greased bread pans.

 

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees, then turn down to 350

degrees and bake for 45 minutes to one hour.

 

Let cool and serve as toast the next day. Mmmmm!

 

OPTION: 1-1/4 cup brown sugar may be substituted for the

honey and sorghum
