It was in the 90's all weekend in DC and I wasn't about to use the stove. So,

we fired up the grill and came up with this. It was extremely quick and easy.

It may sound odd but it is very good! Enjoy! Donna

 

** Hawaiian Style Tofu Wrap (ovo-lacto, can be vegan) **

 

Ingredients

1 block firm tofu - frozen and then thawed

1 large vidalia onion

1 can crushed pineapple, drained (or fresh)

Provolone cheese, shredded

Your favorite barbecue sauce

Whole Wheat tortillas (or your favorite variety)

applewood or other flavored grill chips (this really gives the tofu flavor)

 

-- Squeeze excess water out of tofu and then cut into 1/2 - 1 " slices

-- Place tofu in a shallow bowl and coat with barbecue sauce. Allow to marinate

for at least 20 minutes.

-- Through a handfull of wood chips on the grill just before you put the tofu on

-- Grill tofu and vidalia onion

-- Slice tofu and onion into smaller pieces

-- Spoon tofu and onion into a warm tortilla

-- Drizzle with extra barbecue sauce

-- Top w/ provolone cheese and pineapple

-- Wrap!
