Guest guest Posted April 15, 2000 Report Share Posted April 15, 2000 Happy baking! ~Emmy~ German Crumb Cake ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3 cups flour 2 cups brown sugar (light or dark, I like dark) 1 cup margarine 2 eggs 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 cup milk 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1) Cut together flour, brown sugar, and margarine. 2) Remove 1 cup and set aside. 3) Add eggs and spices to remaining flour mixture. 4) Mix milk and vinegar; let stand for 5 minutes. 5) Add baking soda; mix until foamy. 6) Add milk to flour mix; stir just a little to mix a bit. 7) Pour in greased tube pan. 8) Sprinkle reserved flour mix on top. 9) Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour until toothpick is JUST clean. Do not over stir!
