Guest guest
Hi all, I just loooove molasses, yet never quite knew what could be done with it until I discovered these few things in a nifty little book I got from a molasses manufacturer. Happy vegging! ~Emmy~ Yum! ~The Magic of Molasses~ Add 1 tablespoon of molasses to a serving of your favourite soup for a new twist that perks up an old standby. Molasses is a natural with any and all bean soups. All bean soups improve when you add 1 tablespoon of molasses per serving. Molasses complements many bottled salad dressings. Add to Russian, Buttermilk, Thousand Island, Creamy Italian, French, Cucumber, Herb, Green Goddess, etc. Pour out a cup of your favourite bottled dressing and add 1 tablespoons of molasses. Mix well, and enjoy! Swirl molasses into your favourite peanut butter for a little zing. Add 1 tablespoon of molasses per cup to any rice dish. Dip fresh apple slices in lemon juice, then in molasses. Sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mix. Makes for a wonderful healthy snack. To each cup of your favourite bottled spaghetti sauce, add 1 teaspoon of molasses and 1 tablespoon red wine. To pasta, add 1 teaspoon molasses, 1 tablespoon canola oil and 1 teaspoon salt per 2 quarts of rapidly boiling water before cooking pasta. Dress up pita bread pockets by tossing shredded vegetables with a mixture of 1 tablespoon molasses and a cup of yogurt. Use only enough of the mixture to coat the vegetables so they'll fit into the pita pocket. Garnish with alfalfa sprouts, if desired. ____ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
