Guest guest
Hi. I am new to the list, my name is Amy. I've been a vegetarian for almost seven years. I love cooking, especially experimental. I don't think I've ever made the exact same recipie twice! I am really busy with my family and school so I rely heavily on my crockpot at times. This is what we had last night, I really don't have a name for it, but it was tastey! Amy's Crockpot Soup - #47 5 medium red potatos - unpeeled and diced 2 medium onions - diced 2 cups chopped fresh spinache 1 Tablespoon Vegetarian Soup Base- I used L.B. Jamison's 1 can cream of celery soup 1 can of corn (with liquid) 1 cup of milk 2-3 cups of water Cook on high for five to six hours. My son is only six, and I have found that chopping the spinache into very fine pieces is worth the effort; he assumes it is 'just spice'. Does any one else have a crockpot recipe they might like to share?
Guest guest
Hi Amy! Your soup sounds good, thanks for the recipe! Here is a suggesion for your crock pot. I like to make this in the winter cause it is very filling served with good sourdough bread (if soupy) or over rice (if thick). I don't have quantities, but I think you won't have problems with that since you're an experimental cook, like me ;-) - green split peas, soaked overnight (throw away the soaking water) - potatoes, diced - carrots, diced - onions, chopped - water (or veggie broth) (adjust the amount depending if you want it thick or thin. This is good no matter how thick or thin it is) - spice it up with quite a bit of mild curry, salt, and some powdered vegetable broth Cook long enough so that the split peas become like a puree. Sometimes, I add thawed frozen green peas toward the end. Enjoy! Maha ciaduffy wrote: > ciaduffy > > Hi. I am new to the list, my name is Amy. I've been a vegetarian > for almost seven years.
