Rice Balls

HOME

There are numerous variations that can be used in

making rice balls. All rice balls are best made with a

creamy, well cooked rice, as they will hold together better.

When forming rice balls, have a bowl of water near to dip

your hands in. It is much easier to form balls if the rice

doesn't stick to your hands.

Plain Rice Balls

These are quick to make and are a nice alternative to plain

rice.

SPICE lightly with any of these combinations:

basil and thyme

garlic and carraway

dried parsley

curry and tarragon

oregano and savory

garlic and celery seeds.

MIX well, tamari to taste, then shape into 1 1/2 " balls.

Place on an oiled tray and bake till browned. Do not

overcook as the outside will get very chewy.

Sesame Rice Balls

Make as in above recipe

MOISTEN each ball with wet hands and roll in a plate of

sesame seeds. Bake on an oiled tray.

Breaded Rice Balls

Spice rice with savory, salt, cayenne or black pepper, and

some melted margerine.

SHAPE into balls and roll in bread crumbs. Bake on an oiled

tray till good and hot.
