Guest guest
Let me know if you have tried these what you thought these are direct excepts from the listings I saw ____________- The Pampered Chef has a great cookbook for working moms with lots of great 30 minutes and under recipes. There are pictures and a pantry and shopping list. It is really worth checking into.Contact me for more info. _____________ I am a cookbook junkie - I especially like the free/inexpensive ones you get from products or at the supermarket check stand. If it's less than $5, and I get even one recipe out of it, I feel justified. The best ones are the " Quick and Healthy " series from Prevention magazine. They come out quarterly. The recipes are " regular food " and not super-fancy nouvelle cuisine (which turns my family off). Very few expensive or hard-to-find ingredients. A fair selection of vegetarian meals, too. One I got from the library and really liked was _The 15-minute Vegetarian Gourmet_. When this woman says " 15-minutes " , that includes chopping/slicing as well as cooking. In *and* out of the kitchen in 15 minutes! It's an older book, though so you have to have soem fat-cutting know-how. ____ this next one uses meat...but you can substitute any meat substitute and many types of vegtables such as egplant or apple would be very good > --------------------- One of my families favorite quick meals we call Hobo Dinners. They are simple to prepare and there is nothing to clean up. Make one large hamburger pattie for each person Peel enough potatoes for each person to have 1/2 of a potato (quarter potatoes) Peel and slice one large onion Use a package of fresh baby carrots. Tear off a square of foil large enough to accomodate each hamburger pattie, and the veggies.(one piece of foil per person) Place hamburger on the bottom, then layer potatoes, carrots, onion, on top. Season well with salt and pepper. Close foil to make a tight package. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. Unfold, put meal on plate and enjoy! __________ I've just found a cookbook that's full of quick and easy recipes. It's called " Athlete's Kitchen " and is written by Nancy Clark. The book is written for athletes who wish to improve their diet. However, it seems as if the meals are applicable to everyone. I'm just starting to try out the recipes. I'll let you know how it goes!
