Guest guest Posted August 18, 1999 Report Share Posted August 18, 1999 from http://members.tripod.com/alix64/veggie.html CRUSTY MUSHROOM LOAF 1 crusty loaf 50g butter 50g flour 600ml milk 225g open cup mushrooms,whiped and sliced 2 Tblspn chopped parsley Cut 1cm slice lengthways off the top of the loaf, carefully pull out the bread, Replace the lid and place on a baking tray, cook in a preheated moderate oven (180C, 350F) for about 15 mins, till crisp, Meanwhile to make the filling, melt the butter in a pan. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 min, remove from heat and gradually add milk,blending well Bring to boil and cook for 2-3 mins stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened, Stir in the mushrooms,parsley and salt & pepper to taste, Fill the loaf shell with the mushroom mix and replace lid, Return to the oven and bake for 10 mins, Serve hot, cut into think slices Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
