Guest guest Posted August 17, 1999 Report Share Posted August 17, 1999 oops...this and last 2 from http://or3.cis.or.occ.cc.mi.us/w97int/s02593/public_html/maindish.htm Spicy Potatoe Ingredients: 1 pound small baby potatoes 2 teaspoon aniseeds 1 tablespoon mustard seeds a pinch of fenugreek seeds 1/2 tablespoon onion seeds 1 tablespoon cumin seeds 5 - 6 flakes of garlic - optional 3 tablespoon broken cashewnuts 1/2 cup yogurt 4 - 5 tablespoon oil 2 onions - sliced finely 3 - 4 green chillies - chopped 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon dried mango powder 2 -3 slit green chillies salt to taste Preparation: 1.Peel potatoes. Boil in salted water till they get cooked properly. 2.Collect aniseeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, onion seeds, and cumin seeds. 3.Crush garlic roughly and keep aside 4.Grind cashewnuts. Mix yogurt in it and keep aside. 5.Heat oil. Add the collected seeds together. Let them crackle. 6.Add onions and chopped chillies. Cook till onions turn golden brown. 7.Add turmeric and crushed garlic. 8.Add the boiled potatoes. Cook for 5 minutes. 9.Add the yogurt-cashew mixture gradually and keep stirring. Add dried mango powder and salt if required. Cook covered for some time. Keep aside. 10.At the time of serving, add the slit green chillies and heat the potatoes. 11.Serve hot, decorated with a tomato flower and sprigs of corriander. to make a tomato flower 1.Peel a long, 1/2 " broad strip of the tomato peel, all around the whole tomato. 2.Roll the strip to make a flower.
