Guest guest
I love to cook this on a regular basis and I keep most the ingredients on hand. Takes approx 6 hrs in crock pot Beware -- if you want to try and cook this over a " Stove " even at low heat -- it kinda runs it, as the meatballs get mushy and tend to fall apart This is a " time tested " recipe - and alot of my time at that. Ciao. Marla --\ ------------------ " Meatless " Meatballs in Sauce 1 - 1/2 Jars (.25oz each) " Puro " Pasta Sauce. Which I buy at " Fresh and Easy " But any sauce that you like will do.. Try to keep it simple and basic recipe IE: (Tomato Sauce) Because if you don't -- it will change the flavor of this dish 1 lb bag Frozen " Meatless " meatballs. I get mine at Trader Joe's brand -- as I love the flavor of these... But not everyone has a TJ's -- so use what you like (or) is available. 2-3 Med. size Yellow squash and zucchini. Cut into reasonable bite size pieces. 1 Red and Yellow Bell pepper - Diced Mushrooms 1/2 lb - sliced. I use fresh ingredients - always.. But naturally, you can use canned/jar, it's your preference. Sometimes, (not always) I'll saute first with wine and bit of Olive Oil -- if they are fresh. Wine (Use a red) Only if you like -- use a 1/2 cup. You can also add a touch of dried Italian Seasoning ( Do not add much - it's a strong ingredient) ( Before Cooking) Add all the ingredients into a separate bowl and then toss into crock pot. Cook 6-8 hrs depending on how your pots temp is. **** PS. Don't forget your Pasta and your cheese for topping - I use Angel Hair and it's great.. I use some " grated " Asiago and some Parmesan. on top.
