Guest guest
That's what I have been using. My grandma gave it to me but I am in search of an instruction booklet for it (or photocopies). It has no Hi/Low settings, rather it goes from 200 to 400 degreese with a Red Band at around 300 degrees for slow cooking. I'm not sure how this affects cooking times, because all the recipes I have either use high or low settings. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it! kristi
Guest guest
Is the model number on it somewhere? If, so try Google. There are sites that provide user guides in PDF format. You might also try the Sunbeam Web site, though they may not have a user guide that old. At 01:26 PM 1/11/2010, Kristi wrote: That's what I have been using. Guest guest
Yep, I called them today and they didn't have it. I'd been searching for a couple of weeks now and nothing. Then, like an answer to my prayers, one showed up on ebay this afternoon for $4! I snapped it up. I'm very excited! If anyone needs a copy, I'd be happy to photocopy it. kristi On Mon, Jan 11, 2010 at 7:50 PM, Mike Christie <mike wrote: > > > Is the model number on it somewhere? If, so try Google. Cowpie7
Hi, I hope this is helpful! I have a Sunbeam Crocker Cooker Fryer... no idea what year it was manufactured, but it was my mother's, and judging from the colors, it's from pretty close to when yours was made. It also has that dial... Off, Simmer on the left side, then the red band in the top middle, then 300, 350, and 400 degree marks on the right side. Anyway, the front panel on mine has temperature "instructions!" I don't know how that would fit into high and low (I'd guess low is just the simmer setting, and for high you just get to pick a more specific temperature setting). I'm sure you can guess from whatever you're cooking with in your recipe what setting to use according to this though. The instructions on the panel of mine read: CROCKERY COOKING USE ONLY CENTER RED BAND OF TEMP. DIAL Beans.............12-14 hours Chili................12-14 hours Meat Sauce........8-9 hours Stews...............8-10 hours Soups...............6-12 hours COOKING Chicken 300 until boiling simmer 3-4 hours Corned Beef 300 " " " 45 min./lb Stews 300 " " " 1-2 hours Vegetables 300 " " " until tender Pot Roast 325-350 until brown " 2-3 hours DEEP FRYING Chicken 350-375 10-20 minutes Chops & Cutlets 350-375 8-12 minutes Doughnuts 375-400 2-4 minutes French Fried Potatoes 375 10-15 minutes Shrimp 375 1-4 minutes
Wantima
Kristi -- If you are still reading these posts and willing to share a photocopy or PDF of the instructions you located for your Sunbeam, I'd be thrilled! Like, you, I inherited my cooker from a grandparent (my grandfather) and am very sentimental about it. I am certain that I am not using it correctly or properly taking advantage of all it's features, since I never had the instructions. Mine is also the yellow/gold model. Looking forward to hearing from you -- or anyone else who can help!?
Guest Janis
I just acquired my 70's Sunbeam Crocker Frypan Slow Cooker FP-BD (EKA) and like so many of you, the setting dial is missing. I can sort of figure it from all the posts above but a photo would speak a thousand words if anyone with one could take a picture and post it. That would be sooo helpful. Kristi, if you're still reading these posts and willing to share a photocopy or PDF of the instructions I too would be thrilled. Look forward to hearing back, hope someone out there can help. Thanks!
