Guest guest Posted October 22, 2008 Report Share Posted October 22, 2008 * Exported from MasterCook * Slow Cooker Diabetic Barbecued Lentils - 5 pts Recipe By :Phyllis Barrier, Little Rock, AR Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : 4 quart Diabetic Vegetarian WW Points Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups barbecue sauce -- Phyliss' Low Sodium recipe below 3 1/2 cups water 1 pound lentils -- dried 9 2/3 ounces vegetarian hot dogs -- sliced (1 - 9.7 oz pkg) Combine all ingredients in slow cookeer. Cover. Cook on low 6-8 hours. Serves: 8 Per Serving: Cals 270 (cals frm fat 9); Total Fat 1g (sat fat 0.1g); Dietary Fiber 15g. Exchanges: Starch 2.0, Veg 2.0, Meat, very lean 2.0. Phyllis' Homemade Barbecue Sauce 2 8-oz cans tomatoe sauce, no added salt 1/4 cup cider vinegar brown sugar substitute equal to 2 T. brown sugar 1/2 cup onions, minced 1 t. garlic powder 1/2 t. dry mustard powder 6 t. ch1ili powder 1 t. paprika 1 t. liquid smoke 1/4 t. salt Mix all ingredients together and cook in microwave until minced onion is tender and sauce has thickened. Makes 16 (2 T) servings. Per Serving: Cals 24 (cals frm fat 2); Total Fat 0g; Dietary Fiber 1g.
