Guest guest
I'm not a big fan of turnips but they are delicious in the crockpot cooked this way. Darlene Crockpot Turnip Whip 4 turnips, peeled, quartered 4 potatoes, peeled, quartered 2 tablespoons minced onion (I use more) 1 teaspoon salt water as needed 1/4 cup light cream or unsweetened soy milk 2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper In crockpot, combine turnips, potatoes, onion and 1 teaspoon salt. Cover with water. Cover pot and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or until vegetables are tender. Drain well. Mash; add cream or soy milk, butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Beat until fluffy. Serves 6.
