In reading through the last couple messages, I am beginning to feel crockpot deprived. I only have two. One is a 6 quart that I have had for 25 years that I got when my kids were little and at home. Now that they are grown and it is just gramdpa and me, I mostly use a 4 quart Rival. I still use the big one to make soups though, because most soups freeze and thaw nicely. If I want to can the soup to make quick lunches, I want to make lost. Have any of you canned your own soups. It is easy to d, in ball jars, and they store in the pantry until you want soup for lunch. You can take a jar to work, remove the lid and heat in the microwave. Since mu husband always manages to ruin the lids and loose the rings, I take his off before he takes them and replace it with a plastic lid that doesn't keep it sealed, but keeps it from spilling till lunch time.
