Guest guest Posted January 14, 2002 Report Share Posted January 14, 2002 http://www.tastycrockpotrecipes.net/recipes2/article1170.html Baked Crock-pot Apples Not only are these delicious, but your house will smell absolutely lovely. 6 large crisp all-purpose apples 1 Tbsp lemon juice 3 Tbsp butter or margarine, softened 1/3 cup light brown sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 1/3 cup raisins 1 cup apple cider 1. Wash and core each apple, leaving a cavity about 1-1/2 inches wide and 1/2-inch from bottom; peel 1 inch around tops. Brush peeled edges with lemon juice. 2. Combine butter or margarine. brown sugar, cinnamon, walnuts and raisins; stir to mix well. 3. Fill apple centers with walnut-raisin mixture. 4. Place apples in single layer on bottom of slow cooker; drizzle with cider. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon, if desired. 5. Cover slow cooker and cook on LOW, 3 to 4 hours or until apples are tender. Baste with juices and serve warm, or at room temperature.
