Guest guest Posted November 20, 2001 Report Share Posted November 20, 2001 http://home.att.net/~LKBender/sidedishes.html#mapleyams Maple Yams 2 Tbsp. butter, softened 5 medium yams or sweet potatoes 3 cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut into wedges 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 c. maple syrup 2 Tbsp. butter, melted 1/4 c. chopped pecans Brush softened butter on bottom and about 6 inches up sides of crockpot. Peel yams; cut into 1/2-inch crosswise slices. Place on bottom of crockpot. Top with apple wedges; then nutmeg, maple syrup and melted butter. Cover and cook on LOW 3 1/2 to 4 hours or until tender.
