Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1 21 oz can cherry pie filling

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter or margarine -- melted

1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Spray the inside of a 2 to 3 1/2 quart slow cooking with cooking spray.

Pour pie filling into slow cooker.

Beat remaining ingredients with a spoon until smooth. Spread batter over pie

filling.

Cover and cook on high heat setting 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until toothpick inserted

in center comes out clean.

VARIATION: Peach, apple, blueberry, or raspberry pie filling would also make a

luscious cobbler. For a little extra crunch, stir 1/4 cup toasted nuts into the

batter before spreading over the pie filling.
