Ranch & Phyllis Pellman Good Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Fix-It and Forget-It Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 29 oz can peach or pear slices -- undrained 1/2 cup dried apricots 1/4 cup golden raisins 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 3/4 cup orange juice Combine undrained peach or pear slices, apricots, raisins, cinnamon, and nutmeg in slow cooker. Stir in orange juice. Completely immerse fruit in liquid. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve cold with angel food cake or pound cake or ice cream. Serve warm as a side dish in the main meal. VARIATION: If you prefer a thicker compote, mix together 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1/4 cup of cold water until smooth. Stir into hot fruit 15 minutes before the end of cooking time. Stir until absorbed in juice.
