Ranch & Phyllis Pellman Good Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Fix-It and Forget-It Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 large head cabbage -- chopped 2 cups water 1 tablespoon salt 1/3 cup butter 1/4 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt -- (to 1 tsp) 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 1/3 cups milk 1 1/3 cups shredded cheddar cheese Cook cabbage in saucepan in boiling water and salt for 5 minutes. Drain. Place in slow cooker. In saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Add milk, stirring constantly on low heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese. Pour over cabbage. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. VARIATION: Replace cabbage with cauliflower.
