Guest guest Posted May 16, 2001 Report Share Posted May 16, 2001 Well, a new one on me - I never knew about this process, so I wrote to Florida Crystals and their response follows: All Florida Crystals sugars are made without the use of Bone Char. The base for our carbon filtration is DIATOMACEOUS EARTH; powdery natural material formed almost entirely from the skeletons of diatoms (single cell aquatic plants), deposited in most cases during the Cenozoic era. The more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know! Now I wonder what else I'm eating as a vegan without knowing there are animals involved?! Thanks for your curiosity.
