Guest guest Posted May 14, 2001 Report Share Posted May 14, 2001 http://southernfood.about.com/food/southernfood/library/cprec/bl116_8.htm Citrus Prune Dessert a.. 2 cups prunes (the dried, pitted kind) b.. water to soak prunes in c.. 2/3 cup boiling water d.. 1/2 cup sugar e.. strips of peel from 1/2 lemon or 1/2 orange f.. 1/4 cup almonds or 1/4 cup walnuts (chopped) g.. Whipped cream or whipped topping Soak the prunes in water overnight to plump them up. Take them out of the water and put in slow cooker. Add the boiling water, sugar, and citrus strips. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours. Remove the citrus peel, discard, and place the prunes in dessert serving dishes. Chill. Serve with whipped cream or whipped topping. Shared by Ness Happy Cooking!
