Guest guest
CROCKPOT KIDNEY BEANS 2 30-oz cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained 1 28-oz diced tomatoes, drained 2 med red bell peppers, chopped 1 C ketchup 1/2 C. packed brown sugar 1/4 C. honey 1/4 C. molasses 1 T. worcestershire 1 tsp. ground mustard 2 med. unpeeled red apples, cored and cut into pieces Combine the beans, tomatoes, bell peppers, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, molasses, worcestershire sauce, and ground mustard in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hrs. Stir in apples. Cover and cook 2 hrs longer. The original recipe calls for 6 slices bacon, cooked, and 1/2 lb polish kielbasa, chopped and browned in the sausage drippings. You could omit both and I think it would be just fine or you could substitute with vegetarian meat substitutes.
