Guest guest Posted April 17, 2001 Report Share Posted April 17, 2001 CROCKPOT BEANS (Lowfat-Crockpot) Makes 4 servings 1 large onion, chopped 1 teaspoon oregano leaves 2 large green peppers, chopped 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1 can (16 oz.) kidney beans, drained 1 teaspoon sage 2 cans (16 oz. each) pinto beans, drained 3/4 teaspoon pepper 1 can (15 oz.) unsalted tomatoes Water to cover beans Combine ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on high for 6 to 8 hours. Note: Adjust temperature according to your own cooker. Some cookers will not cook the vegetables well on " low " but on others, " high " may brown the sides slightly.
