Guest guest
Thank you for allowing me to join your group. As a senior citizen who no longer drives and lives alone with 3 cats. I had to find a new way to keep a food supply and discovered Walton Feed.com, and started buying grains and beans in 25 pound bags, I get them delivered by UPS into the house cheaper than I can shop for food in the super markets of Kingman, Arizona. Fresher and better too. No, I'm not connected, a lucky find on the internet. Now must figure out how to cook them. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with dried whole green peas? I tried a pot with some seasoning and bouillion, they kinda taste like canned peas (cheap brand). I was pleased with the lentils, cooked the same as the peas and they were good. Recipes with cornmeal are needed, as I bought a 50# sack of it. I was born on a farm in Texas, so cooking pinto beans and cornbread are normal. I do it without a recipe. When I try out more of the recipes that I am finding I will be glad to share, but this is still new to me and I have to try more than I have. Yes, I knew that I would have to learn new cooking methods and that is ok. Meat is too scary to eat today. I had been ordering the dry onions, etc for cooking and with the last order ordered all new to me grains.
