Guest guest Posted March 6, 2001 Report Share Posted March 6, 2001 Classic Tomato-Vegetable Pasta Sauce (Lowfat-Crockpot) Makes 4-5 servings 1 (28 oz.) can tomato puree 2 stalks celery, chopped 2 med. leeks, chopped and rinsed 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms 1 clove garlic, crushed 1/4 cup dry red wine 1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper 12 oz. spaghetti or noodles 1 tsp. finely chopped fresh basil Combine first 9 ingredients in a 3 1/2 qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 7 hrs. or until vegetables are tender. Cook pasta according to pkg. directions. Drain and transfer to a serving bowl. Spoon sauce over pasta. Sprinkle sauce with finely chopped basil.
