Hi

just wanted to let you all know that after reading all your advice and doing

some googling on various bits and pieces i am now becoming a vegan. I'm

saying becoming, and will do for a while, because i think its going to be a

gradual process and i'll probably slip up accidentally a couple of times.

Anyhow, i decided to monitor my progress by starting an online diary to

write the hows and whys and whats so if anyone wants to check it out its at

http://laurakate01.diaryland.com/ (hope the link works)

There's not much happening at the moment because i've only ust started it

but it should be good. I'm hoping that in the future i can use it to help

others. Not sure the logistics yet but i have a feeling it'll be useful.

Therefore, I wanted to ask you guys a favour. Those people who gave me

advice...Keith, Dave0, Gene, Pat, Dorothea, Trula, Lisa, Megan... i think

thats everyone, would you mind me quoting you on my diary? I can quote it

as yourname, the Feral Vegetarian , or as anonymous if you

prefer. Either way, i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Laura :)

Hi Laura,

What a good idea! Haven't checked out your web page yet, but I will very

soon (when I finish my emails). As for quoting me, no problem - anyway

you like ;=) But remember, I think there are at least *two* pats on this

list. Me, usually signed pat sant but sometimes I forget and sign just

pat, and pat meadows. There may be others ;=)

Good luck with it. I'm a long way from being vegan myself right now -

and I'm not terribly sure how committed I am to it after being

comfortably vegetarian for so long - but I do fine without the dairy.

It's the other stuff - the non-dietary stuff, for example - as well as

worrying about the hidden stuff in prepared stuff that you eat out -

e.g. bread in restaurants, etc. and how sugar is processed and and and

and. I am so in awe of people who manage not only a vegan diet but, as

much as is possible in a modern world, a vegan lifestyle.

best,

pat
