Guest guest
Your dinner last night sounds delicious. It also sounds like you are teaching your bf well. Maybe soon he will be taking over some of the cooking? Do you ever give him some prep-cook chores, or is he too busy jotting down what you are doing on a piece of paper? ~ PT ~ An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind. ~ Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , Sherri <sherria@o...> wrote: > , " Feral <terebinthus> " > <terebinthus> wrote: > > What is everyone here having for dinner? > > We had rice and black bean burritos. A little of both. He'll do any prep work I ask him to, but I'm basically a kitchen fascist - MY way is the ONLY right way to do things in my kitchen, and its often just easier to do it myself, rather than take the time to teach someone how I want it done. I'm quite happy to just have the company to talk to while I'm fiddling with ingredients, and I think its good for him to see that the way I cook really isn't a lot of effort, so he isn't so intimidated. He has the incorrect impression that it must be difficult to cook for me. He's a very basic kind of cook, and he is usually cooking for kids who tend to be fussy. He doesn't do a lot of experimenting in the kitchen, and tends to stick to " tried and true " recipes that he knows his kids will eat. He's getting braver though. He actually talked about getting a crockpot and a bread maker, which would make things much easier. The last one out of the house can just pop it in and turn it on, and dinner is ready when they get home. I don't have a lot of great vegetarian crockpot recipes, so if anyone has some to share that would be great. He's really quite supportive of my dietary choices, and anything I can do to make it easier for him is appreciated. -- Sherri " The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who don't have it.
