Guest guest
I like to throw this together while the dinner is baking, then stick it right in the oven to cook while we dine. That way it makes the whole house smell divine and it sure encourages my kids to clear the table fast so they can get dessert. Apple Crisp 8 tart apples, peeled and sliced 1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup oats (I use quick oats) 2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a baking pan. [i use my 10 inch round deep dish quiche stone] Arrange apple slices in pan. Mix remaining ingredients together and sprinkle over apples. Bake about 45 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve warn, and if desired, with cream or ice cream. ~ feral ~ There was never a genius without a tincture of madness. ~Aristotle, philosopher (384-322 BCE)
