hi chrysta,

welcome to the group.

you might want to check out a book by dr. peter

d'adamo called 'eat right for your type'. he believes

(based on his scientific and anthropological

research)there is a connection between blood type and

food.

he states that type o blood is the oldest blood type

that goes all the way back to human ancestors that

were hunters and gatherers and thrived on

meat/protein. when they hunted many animals to

extinction, many populations had to start growing

crops and domesticating animals for food. their blood

type evolved into type a. later on some groups became

pastorial and nomadic (sheep herders) and over time,

their blood type changed to type b. type ab blood is

the most recent type and is believed to come from the

mixing of peoples with type a blood and ones with type

b blood.

so....based on that, d'adamo (and many others)

postulate that:

type o's do well with meat and protein

type a's do well with a vegetarian diet

type b's do well with meat and dairy

and type ab's do well with meat, dairy, grains and

veggies.

this is a really really basic overview of d'adamo's

book...there's a lot more to it.

and of coarse all of that can be debated.

i found the book to be interesting, but i'm just a

dork with an anthropology degree.

susie
