Guest guest
Last time I checked, " jump to cause " was simply one of four critical thinking skills: 1. Situational assessment (what's happening?) is called " jump to resolution. " 2. Problem solving (why is it happening?) is called " jump to cause. " 3. Decision making (which choice is best?) is called " jump to solution. " 4. Action planning (how to do it?) is called " jump to action. " I've used this particular skill set for over two decades, and this is the first time I've ever seen anybody pull one of them out, isolate it like this, and then imply something nefarious about it in order to make " some kind " of an " all too subtle point. " Problem solving is simply one useful skill in our way of thinking and making useful choices about the world around us, and statistics is simply a way of organizing vast amounts of complex information. >>...Jump to Cause...means they see longevity and conclude it's diet doing it.<< " Jump to cause " means nothing of the sort, and the study behind the " Okinawan Diet " is far beyond the simplicity you imply. With all this information on one page, I'm not sure what your post intended to say. Can you elaborate please? DaveO The Stewarts [stews9] LOL - I love these kinds of things. It's called Jump to Cause. That means they see longevity and conclude it's diet doing it. Statistics is a form of self-delusion, no kidding. DaveO response: > The " Okinawan Diet " is recognized as the healthiest diet because > Okinawans have the largest percentage of elderly reaching age 100 than > any other region on the planet, and sadly, they are neither veggie nor > vegan. Original post: > Vegans live on average 6 years longer than > vegetarians and have less rates of (the > already lower rates) obesity than vegetarians.
