Guest guest
If they receive literally tens of thousands of letters each year asking a basic set of questions, it'd be stupid of them not to develop a boilerplate response that answers the basic same questions so they can send out automated replies that both foster better public relations and also address the concerns of consumers. I see this as good business, as professionalism. Guest guest
tis true, can you imagine the amount of money and time they'd waste by retyping the same answer again and again. i just find it laughable how they try to personalize it by inserting your name in the heading... they might as well put " dear tree-hugging soy fag " . , The Stewarts <stews9@c...> wrote: > If they receive literally tens of thousands of letters each year asking a > basic set of questions, it'd be stupid of them not to develop a > boilerplate response that answers the basic same questions so they can > send out automated replies that both foster better public relations and > also address the concerns of consumers. > > I see this as good business, as professionalism. > > > On Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at 03:34 PM, > wrote: > > > Re: letter from proctor & gamble regarding animal rights testing > > > > This letter sounds awfully familiar! > > > > I recieved a response from Proctor and Gamble about a year ago and if > > it wasn't the same as this one it WAS VERY VERY SIMILAR.... > > > > Cheers, > > Glenda > > > > > > > " Never argue with an idiot because passers-by won't be able to tell you > apart. Guest guest
Here's more info that might generate additional laughter. It's likely that your letter was optically scanned. Based on the keywords it found, that " file, " yet unseen by human eyes, was forwarded to a bank of autoresponders which then " genned " your particular response. It's highly likely that your letter/email is kept on file, and no one actually reads it until they need it for some " humane " purpose. To get the " dear tree-hugging soy fag " response, you need only to include the proper " fag related " keywords in your initial letter. ;-) DaveO dave <dave4sale [dave4sale] >>...[re: P & G automated letter] i just find it laughable how they try to personalize it by inserting your name in the heading... they might as well put " dear tree-hugging soy fag " .<<
