[recipe] Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Mix

Tie a jar of this cookie mix with a pretty ribbon and include a

recipe card.

Lovely when presented as a housewarming gift or when a friend has a

new

baby. :)

 

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Mix

 

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup raisins (or chocolate chips if you prefer)

2 cups quick-cooking oats

 

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

 

In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients; set aside. In a 1-qt

glass jar,

layer brown sugar, sugar, raisins or choc chips and oats, packing

well

between layers.

Top with reserved flour mixture.Cover and store in a cool dry place

for up to

six months. Yield: 1 batch cookies (about 4 cups total)

 

To Prepare Cookies:

In a mixing bowl, cream the butter. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add

cookie mix

and mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonsful 2 inches apart onto

greased

baking sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes before

removing

from baking sheets. Yield: about 5 dozen cookies per batch
