Guest guest
Chamomile tea is good for a bit of relaxing, but when I am truely sleepless and suffering from my occasional anxiety and insomnia, I need a valerian kick. I remove myself from all noise, drink some 'sleepytime extra' tea from Celestial Seasonings or 'bedtime organic' by Yogi Tea. Both these formulas contain 25mg Valerian. I find the Yogi brand is easier on my stomach than the Celestial Seasoning version. Anyway, I thought I would mention these products that I have found helpful. Do ask your doctors if there is any problem with drug interaction in taking these herbs if you are on regular medication for other reasons. ~ PT ~ A misery is not to be measured from the nature of the evil, but from the temper of the sufferer. ~ Joseph Addison, essayist and poet (1672-1719) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~> , AnnaJames91@c... wrote: > In a message dated 2/9/2003 9:07:13 PM Central Standard Time, > terebinthus writes: > > Sometimes when I just need comfort food that is no-fuss/ no-cook/ > > cheap I > > will nuke a baked potato, > ya know what is good on a baked potato, is salsa! Guest guest
as long as we're on the topic of sleeping problems, sometimes it seems like i have hypersomnia (sleep too much). i know it could be a symptom of depression, but i don't feel as depressed as when i was a teen. does anyone know if there's something that might be lacking in my diet to make me sleep so long. i get tired so early and still sleep late. , " Feral <terebinthus> " <terebinthus> wrote: > Chamomile tea is good for a bit of relaxing, but when I am truely > sleepless > and suffering from my occasional anxiety and insomnia, I need a > valerian > kick. Guest guest
I'm not a doctor, but it sure sounds like it might be a thyroid problem. You could get a blood test to find out. My husband was just like you described and I told him to see his doctor. Come to find out he had serious hypo- thyroid... not hyper, which is what I am on the cusp of. Hypo makes you lethargic and sleepy, tends to make you gain weight etc. Hyper is just the opposite. [i think] *lol* Just my 2 cents, since you asked. ~ PT ~ Be the change you want to see in the world. ~ Mahatma Gandhi ~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " dave <dave4sale> " < dave4sale> wrote: > as long as we're on the topic of sleeping problems, sometimes it > seems like i have hypersomnia (sleep too much). i know it could be a > symptom of depression, but i don't feel as depressed as when i was a > teen. does anyone know if there's something that might be lacking in > my diet to make me sleep so long. i get tired so early and still > sleep late.
